The List

Sometimes I hate it when I’m right!

This is one time when I really didn’t want to be right. Click here for "The List".

Is it just me, or is Mo Vaughn the only Red Sox player (sans Brendan Donnelly) on the list?

Something stinks up there in Beantown, and this time it’s not just the Red Sox.

Jeannie and I were at our favorite Mexican restaurant for about an hour at lunch, and the ESPNation mentioned Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, Barry Bonds and Miguel Tejada.

Just those 4 players…

For an hour straight…

The "Mitchell" scroll tab at the bottom of the TV screen reported Clemens and Pettitte ONLY. Over and over and over and over and over.

No mention of any other players, other than Jason Giambi.

Just the Yankee players.

And we’re to believe that this report isn’t biased?

Yeah… RIIIIIIIIGHHHTTT…

This whole thing is worse than I thought. As I note on my blog, the only sources used by the Director of the Red Sox were from New York!

I just read your blog post, Michael.
As usual, you’re dead-on correct!

The whole thing almost stinks as bad as the steroid usage!

Mo Vaughn is a pretty big name.

Mo Vaughn IS a big name, but remember, this is probably alleged from the time he played in New York with the Mets.

I am in total agreement. I don’t think it had anything to do though with Mitchell’s affiliation with the Sox. There wasn’t anything out there excpet for the coerced testimony of two NY based individuals. I don’t think it was the right move to include these names based on hearsay. I really can’t wait to see who sues. As far as I’m concerned if you want to prove your innocence, file a lawsuit and take it all the way.

It’ll be interesting to see who sues, and who doesn’t.
You’re probably right about the affiliation thing, but the coverage has been atrociously biased.

Thanks, J!

What we have in this report is:
1.The main guy works for the Red Sox. (I suppose it’s conincidence that only one former Red Sox player (Mo Vaughn) is named.

2.Almost all of the information in this report is nothing more than gossip based on the word(s) of convicted felons.

It is inherently problematic to look back in time and try to redo something. This report is a silly waste of time and pointless.

You seem to have missed, ummm, about 12 former Red Sox:
Roger Clemens, Mo Vaughn, Eric Gagne, Brendan Donnelly, Steve Woodard, Jose Canseco, Manny Alexander, Paxton Crawford, Jeremy Giambi, Josias Manzanillo, Chris Donnels, Mike Lansing, Kent Mercker, and Mike Stanton.

Bizzo5000:
Thanks for the correction. I admit that I’m not the greatest source on remembering the Red Sox all-time roster.

Still, the coverage has been VERY biased.

Thanks for your input, though!

Rick
